AWS automatic weld gauge
The Automatic Welding Gauge AWS meets the specifications for butt and fillet welds.
The diagrams on the left illustrate how welders and inspectors can accurately check the size of convex or concave fillets as well as butt weld reinforcements.
The sizes of convexity and concavity have been automatically predetermined in accordance with paragraph 3.6 of the American Welding Society D1.1.
The gauge is used for:
- Checking reinforcement
- Checking the depth of the fillet weld
- Determining the size of the fillet weld leg
