Elcometer 308 Hygrometer
Before painting, you need to check that the climatic conditions are right for applying a coating. These conditions are clearly indicated on the paint manufacturer's technical data sheet.
Surface Temperature (Ts) and Relative Humidity (%RH) are two of the key values mentioned on most technical data sheets.
Relative Humidity (RH): this is the quantity of water vapour contained in the air. Expressed as a percentage, RH depends on the air temperature. The usual RH values specified by paint manufacturers range from 75% to 85%.
The Elcometer 308 Hygrometer is specifically designed to work in very hot climates, where the surface temperature of the substrate may exceed the limits recommended by the paint manufacturer for a quality application. Surface Temperature (Ts).
Failure to comply with these recommendations can have a detrimental effect on the performance and lifespan of the coating. The Elcometer 308 Hygrometer allows these two critical parameters to be checked quickly and easily.
Robust Design: Designed for use in extreme environments, the Elcometer 308 is dust and waterproof with its hermetically sealed sensors.
Freeze / Unfreeze measurement function: Measurements can be 'frozen' on screen at the touch of a button. You can then make a note of them before "unfreezing" the screen to resume monitoring if necessary.
Backlighting: The screen is illuminated to make it easier to read information - ideal in dark or confined spaces.
