Elcometer 3230 Circular Thickness Gauges for Wet Films
The Elcometer 3230 Wet Film Circular Gauge is a simple, accurate and high precision instrument consisting of three circular parts. The central disc is smaller in diameter and is eccentric to the two outer discs.
By rolling the gauge over a wet coating, the central disc eventually touches the film. This point on the scale indicates the thickness.
A practical fixing handle is available in two lengths: 15 cm (6") and 50 cm (19"). Please specify when ordering.
Depending on the coating properties (percentage of dry extract) generally indicated by the product data sheet, the thickness of the wet film can be used to predict the thickness of the dry coating.
Different measurement ranges from 0 to 25 μm and 0 to 1,000 μm (0 to 1 mil and 0 to 40 mils) are available.
- The continuous scale gives a measurement accuracy of ±5% of the marked value or ±3μm (0.12mil) at best.
