Low-cost Hi-Lo welding gauge
Four quick steps to check internal alignment:
- Unlock the retaining screw and press the gauge tabs past the barrel.
- Insert the tabs (wires) into the space between the roots of the two pieces of pipe to be installed. Turn the gauge 90 degrees, making sure to apply constant back pressure to the barrel.
- Hold the gauge as square as possible to the fitting to get an accurate reading. Secure the fixing screw. Reverse the 90 degree turn and remove the dipstick. You are now ready to read the increment opposite the red line.
- When the red line aligns with the 1/32" increment, you have good internal alignment and fit. Misalignments can be determined.
