The Elcometer 280 is an elongated porosity detector designed to make high voltage DC pulse porosity detection easier, safer and more reliable.

 

The Elcometer 280 uses state-of-the-art electronics to allow the user to inspect coatings without connecting the earth cable to the substrate - ideal for inspecting large areas and pipelines.

  • Flashing display, indicator light and adjustable volume alarm signal the presence of a fault
  • User-adjustable range from 0.5 to 35 kV to detect porosity in coatings up to 25 mm (1") thick
  • Safety trigger integrated into handle cuts voltage if released

The Elcometer 280 uses pulsed high voltage DC technology to detect faults in coatings - whether wet, dirty or slightly conductive.

Whether it's the double safety switch, the indicator light, the on-screen voltage symbols or the spark protection ribs, the Elcometer 280 is the benchmark for safe high voltage measurement.
 
Using the wide range of probe accessories, users can detect porosity/defects in coatings up to 25mm (1") thick.
