AMIGO 2 ACFM surface defect detector
In its 30-year history, ACFM® technology has established a solid reputation for the accurate detection and sizing of surface failure cracks in paint and coatings. The original Amigo® ACFM instrument has earned a reputation for robustness, reliability and ease of use. As the industry demands higher performance in terms of throughput, signal quality and portability, the time has come to evolve. It's time for Amigo 2.

Faster inspections and better data
Amigo 2 is designed around a highly advanced signal acquisition and processing system, capable of processing data much faster than the original Amigo, for a data range 14 times greater. This gives you smoother, higher resolution indications that increase the detectability of small defects and the coating thickness through which you can inspect.
Portable unit with on-board and remote software
Amigo 2 is a standalone unit that integrates electronics, a multi-touch display and storage in a robust casing. This removes the need for a remote computer and cables, improving portability. Of course, those of you who still want to use a remote computer still can.
A new evolution platform
Amigo 2 features a SENSU® 2 connector for use with a new generation of ACFM, manual and matrix probes. The SENSU 2 connector supports up to eight digital inputs for high-speed applications. Together, Amigo 2 and its Assist software are fully designed and ready to support the evolution of ACFM probes.
Downward compatibility with Amigo and Pace probes
Amigo 2 is equipped with a connector that supports the use of all Amigo probes (standard matrix and manual probes), simply by importing the corresponding QPC files. Pace® pencil probes are also supported via a dedicated SENSU connector. What's more, you can connect multiple probes to Amigo 2 at the same time, quickly switching between them in the software.
The essence of the ACFM: Assist
Experienced ACFM operators will immediately feel at ease - the familiar Bx/Bz traces and butterfly taking centre stage on the Amigo 2 screen - while the multi-touch interface provides highly intuitive ribbon access to all the software's functions.
