The MIZ-21C has been designed with user comfort in mind. It can be held twice as long as other portable eddy current testers. Its small footprint allows users to inspect hard-to-reach surfaces and components. The MIZ-21C brings the power of multi-element surface solutions to previously inaccessible areas.

Improved fault detection

The MIZ-21C offers industry-leading signal quality, providing up to 25% greater defect detection capability. Coupled with multi-surface elements, the MIZ-21C guarantees users the most thorough inspection in its class.

Detection of cracks close to tapping.

Stylus probes are ideal for detecting small cracks in hard-to-reach areas. The inspector uses a calibration block with cracks to configure the display of signals on the MIZ-21C screen. As the inspector scans the workpiece, he can then estimate the depth and length of open cracks by comparing the phase and amplitude of the eddy current signal with the signal obtained on the calibration block.

Multi-layer corrosion detection.

Identifying corrosion is one of the most critical and complex aspects of aerospace inspections. Changes in coating thickness and various multi-layer structures generally complicate signal characterisation. The MIZ-21C is able to penetrate thick sections. Its exceptional signal-to-noise ratio helps inspectors to distinguish even the smallest losses of material. Dual frequency and multiplexing virtually eliminates unwanted signals caused by various gaps between layers that can conceal indications.

Conductivity and coating thickness measurement

Use digital conductivity (resistivity) measurements to characterise/sort materials. Directly measure the conductivity of metals and alloys, such as aluminium structures, using dedicated conductivity probes with a wide operating frequency range. Non-conductive coatings such as paint can also be measured. The MIZ-21C offers an extended measurement range for conductivity and coating thickness.
